I've always had a crush on Amsterdam.
For around 4-5 years now I have been interested and desperate to go!
My boyfriends birthday was the perfect opportunity, with turning the big 22 and all..
Luckily Sam also shared this same dream of one day exploring the beautiful city.
So on the 30th of November 2018, we jetted off for 4 nights.
WOW,WOW,WOOOOW!
Is all I can say.
I have never felt so at home in a place I have never been before, I am even contemplating on packing my things, booking the next flight and moving there.
I'm so in love, never in my 20 years on this earth have I met people so welcoming, kind and chillaxeddd
The only downfall was the prices $$$!
We stayed in the hotel ibis, one of the cheapest hotels that we could find, if you are looking to stay in the city centre, make sure you have a spare grand to hand.
Hotel ibis was a budget hotel, a perfect destination from the city centre.
About a 20-25 minute bus journey which you could take from the bus station which was right in front of the hotel itself.
It was around 20 euro for a 2 day bus ticket.
Make sure you also buy bus tickets as you have to tap in and out!
We spent most of our days getting lost in the city of Amsterdam, its a maze, one day we managed to do the same lap four times..
Whilst there, we visited the moco museum which luckily had the Banksy exhibition on which I was thoroughly pleased about, always been interested in his work, especially with the fact that no one knows who he is, it makes his work x100 more interesting!
If you are interested in exploring museums, make sure you book online in advance or you could see yourself waiting hours in queues or being declined entry which sadly happened to us with the Anne frank house as they was fully booked.
While there, its also a great idea to check out the famous Amsterdam sex museum, defiantly worth that 5 euros for the giggles.
Amsterdam night life is something else, even in the winter months bars and clubs was packed out, we found ourselves spending our evenings in bars meeting new people, especially our fave ausi, Zayn.. LEDGEND.
Luckily Amsterdam is a picturesque place, you can spend hours taking photos and selfies which we spent our time doing, everywhere you look there is narrow houses, canals, graffiti or old historical sites.
Together we have decided to make another trip back at the end of the year as we didn't manage to tick off everything we wanted to do, we are still interested in wondering round more museums like Anne franks house, Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh museum and the all round interesting 'kattenkabinet' which is a cat museum!!
All round beautiful place and so far my favourite place I have travelled.
Have you ever visited to Amsterdam?
